Chasing Love

When love doesn’t chase me back?

Leaving me questioning, “are we really, “in love?”

We are just two people on separate tracks.

I long for connection,

A bond that’s pure and true,

But all I feel is rejection,

When all I want is to be pursued.

I search, I anticipate,

hoping to find,

A love that will reciprocate,

A love that coincides.

But love remains elusive,

slipping through my grasp,

Leaving me inconclusive,

questioning how much longer this will last.

I chase after love,

with all of my might,

Trying to rise above,

But perhaps it’s not worth the fight.

For love that is forced,

will never truly be.

It must grow and flourish on its own accord,

Like a seed in the darkness, yearning to be free.
